My Great-grandfather was the first missionary to the Siksika Nation in Western Canada in 1883, where he established one of the first infamous residential schools. His harsh treatment of indigenous peoples led to the Siksika uprising of 1894. In this book I apologize to the Siksika people for the generations of suffering and genocide that they endured. An in-depth essay by historian Ben Miller adds historical meat. First performed at the Toronto Biennial of Art in 2019.
